A 270 m² fabric filter serving the primary crusher, plus numerous dust extraction systems across the Dudfield plant, designed to the Holcim standard with no horizontal ductwork.
Fumex Engineering designed, supplied and installed a 270 m² fabric filter unit serving the primary crusher at the Afrisam Dudfield plant in Lichtenburg, North West.
The system comprised a 270 m² fabric filter complete with pulse cleaning system and ductwork, a 55 kW backward-curved centrifugal belt-driven fan, dust-disposal screw conveyor and rotary valve, support steelwork including an access platform, and the full electrical and mechanical installation. The ducting was designed using the Holcim standard, which does not allow for horizontal ductwork — all ductwork was installed with a 60° slope.
We also designed and installed numerous further dust extraction systems on the Dudfield plant, including the clinker crushing plant and the rail loadout plant.
